Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Maintenance Engineer to join our team at an expanding biotech manufacturing facility in Sligo. As a key engineering professional, this role involves technical operation and maintenance of plant items, utilities, and machinery to ensure optimal equipment performance while maintaining compliance to GMP and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for routine PMs and related paperwork according to scheduled timelines, updating eMaint (CMMS) and coordinating with maintenance contractors/equipment vendors on site. A strong technical aptitude, proficiency in MS packages, and experience with CMMS are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all machinery, plant, equipment, utilities, facilities, and services are maintained to required operating standards, ensuring the validated state of GMP equipment is consistently maintained.
  • Perform installation, emergency, corrective, and preventive maintenance (PM) of equipment under direct or minimal guidance.
  • Coordinate and manage maintenance contractors/equipment vendors on site, issuing and controlling permits to work, reviewing their reports and records.
  • In partnership with Operations and Quality, troubleshoot issues, providing engineering expertise to find solutions promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to assist in the specification, installation, commissioning, and testing of new or recommissioned equipment/plant/utilities.
  • Attend FATs to ensure adherence to user requirements specifications and related requirements.
  • Contribute to deviation, CAPA, and change control processes by owning or providing engineering input.
  • Participate in internal audits to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Effectively manage supplies and spare parts inventory to minimize waste and optimize usage.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at improving system performance and reliability.
