Job Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Civil Engineers to join our team and contribute to the delivery of various national infrastructure projects.

The successful candidates will be responsible for providing a range of services from feasibility studies to detailed designs, construction, and project completion.

Candidates can expect to work on diverse projects in both public and private sectors. A mentorship program is available, offering guidance from our Leadership Team as part of either our Graduate Training Program or direct mentorship post Chartership.

Rapid career progression is possible within an expanding team for successful candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidates will report to a Team Leader and display excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong numerical background and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • An understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, including drainage design, levels, roads, watermains, and earthworks, is essential.
  • A good grasp of design principles set out in national/local authority standards and technical guidance documents is necessary.
  • Experience in designing and specifying civil engineering materials is desirable.
  • The ability to analyze baseline information and prepare innovative, cost-effective design solutions for clients using latest design suites and software applications is required.
  • Multi-disciplinary design coordination experience and the ability to present design solutions effectively and holistically internally and within a wider project team is necessary.
  • Performing site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, answer contractor queries, and adherence to specifications is required.
  • The ability to mentor junior staff in developing their technical expertise is essential.
  • Good planning and organizational skills are required.
  • Familiarity with preparing contract documents for Public Works Contracts and participating in contract administration is necessary.
  • Developing an awareness of project and commercial management requirements on large infrastructure projects is beneficial.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-6 years of civil engineering experience is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • A minimum Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree (Hons) and working towards Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent is required.
  • A customer-focused approach with growing client relationship management skills is necessary.
  • The ability to mentor junior staff in developing their technical expertise is essential.
  • Good planning and organizational skills are required.
  • A current driver's license is desirable.
