Job Overview

Sensational Kids Child Development Centres is seeking a dedicated and compassionate specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the centre, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychological assessments, interventions, and therapeutic support to children and adolescents with developmental needs.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure integrated care. You will work closely with children, families, and colleagues to provide evidence-based recommendations and promote effective strategies for support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioural functioning of children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings, utilising evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and educational psychologists, to ensure integrated and holistic care for clients.
  • Offer consultation and support to parents, caregivers, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate understanding of developmental and psychological issues and to promote effective strategies for support.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant records in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical or Educational Psychology, accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of post-qualification experience in clinical practice, preferably working with children and adolescents.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting psychological assessments and providing evidence-based recommendations for a range of developmental, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • ADOS training and experience of providing autism diagnostic assessments desirable.
