Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Are you a mechanical design engineer looking for a new challenge?

We are seeking an experienced and skilled mechanical design engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with a design team including mechanical, civil, E&I, CP and drafting members to deliver complex projects.
  • Design mechanical systems from conceptual phase through to project completion.
  • Develop preliminary and detailed design reports, calculations and drawings.
  • Produce design drawings, select mechanical plant and write technical specifications.
  • Produce plant layouts (2D & 3D), technical specifications, datasheets, equipment schedules and piping diagrams.
  • Prepare designs of mechanical installations typically including municipal water and wastewater pumping stations and treatment plants.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations for gravity and pumped systems including pumping system analysis and pump selection.
  • Ensure all designs meet relevant standards and specifications.
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Attend progress meetings with the design team, clients, contractors and suppliers.
  • Conduct site visits to carry out site surveys and support liaison activities with clients, contractors and suppliers.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 years' post-graduate experience.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 'Plant 3D' modeling software.
  • Good academic record.
  • A full clean driving license and own transport.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
