Job Summary:

Leading a team of site operatives and subcontractors to deliver civil engineering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard is a key aspect of this role.

  • Oversee site crews to ensure works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and safety protocols.
  • Act as a liaison between site management and operatives, driving productivity while maintaining quality and safety compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

Key Tasks:
  • Supervise and coordinate site teams and resources effectively.
  • Monitor progress, reporting back to the Site Manager and ensuring works are completed within set timelines.
  • Carry out toolbox talks and maintain health & safety compliance at all times.
  • Organise plant, materials, and labour resources to optimise efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist in resolving any on-site issues or challenges that may arise.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Ganger / Foreman in civil engineering or groundworks projects is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of civils (e.g., drainage, utilities, concrete, earthworks, roadworks) is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are necessary for success in this role.
  • Safe Pass and relevant tickets are advantageous but not essential.
