We're looking for a seasoned Machine Learning Scientist to join our team in Dublin, Ireland.

Our team is responsible for developing new machine learning features, researching cutting-edge algorithms and technologies, and quickly prototyping solutions for our customers.

We're an extremely product-focused team that works closely with Product and Design functions to deliver exceptional results. Our ML engineers enable us to move to production rapidly, often shipping to beta within weeks of a successful offline test.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify areas where machine learning can create value for our customers
  • Determine the right machine learning framing of product problems
  • Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders from Product and Design
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and research
  • Develop a deep understanding of the problem area
  • Research and identify the right algorithms and tools
  • Be pragmatic but innovative, pushing the boundaries when necessary
  • Perform offline evaluation to gather evidence an algorithm will work
  • Work with engineers to bring prototypes to production
  • Plan, measure, and socialize learnings to inform iteration
  • Partner deeply with the rest of the team and others to build excellent machine learning products
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Broad applied machine learning knowledge
  • 3-5 years of applied ML experience
  • Practical statistics knowledge (experiment design, dealing with confounding etc)
  • Intermediate programming skills
  • Strong communication skills, both within engineering teams and across disciplines
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Typically have advanced education in ML or a related field (e.g. MSc)
  • Scientific thinking skills
Bonus Skills and Attributes
  • A track record of shipping machine learning products
  • PhD or other experience in a research environment
  • Deep experience in an applicable ML area (e.g. NLP, Deep learning, Bayesian methods, Reinforcement learning, clustering)
  • Strong statistics or math background
  • Visualization, data skills, SQL, matplotlib, etc
