Job Description

The Senior Director, Finance Shared Services will lead NetApp's Record-to-Report (General Accounting), Statutory Accounting, Invoice-to-Pay, Global Payroll, and Commissions Finance teams. In this role, you'll be responsible for promoting efficiencies and continuous improvement, driving strategic initiatives, and supporting the achievement of corporate goals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and deliver key accounting and finance services, including monthly accounting close activities, global payrolls, commissions calculations, vendor payments, and statutory financial statement filings.
  2. Sponsor and champion continuous improvement projects focused on process excellence, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  3. Drive or support strategic initiatives, such as new system and technology implementations and enhancements, external service provider optimizations, and policy changes.
  4. Implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in partnership with the Business Transformation office.
  5. Contribute to M&A activities, including integration of finance operations for acquired companies.
  6. Respond to inquiries from leadership specific to payroll, commissions, expense reimbursement, and vendor payments.
  7. Monitor and improve key performance metrics to measure quality and efficiency of shared services processes and outputs.
  8. Align structures, responsibilities, and geographical locations of teams with organization objectives to support responsiveness and appropriate escalation for service issues.
  9. Develop and manage staff, including establishing individual and team goals, coaching and counseling, training, mentoring, and career planning.
  10. Foster strong, collaborative relationships with leaders and stakeholders within and outside the CFO organization.
  11. Collaborate with Corporate Legal, Tax, and others to stay updated on new and changing regulations and legislation impacting 1) payroll design, delivery, and reporting, and 2) statutory financial reporting requirements.
  12. Maintain an effective internal control environment, including SOX documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • 10+ years of experience leading large accounting and finance teams (preferably, including Payroll).
  • Extensive experience managing offshore operations and successfully delivering outcomes from a shared service model primarily based overseas (preferably India).
  • Deep knowledge of accounting principles, payroll regulations, and internal controls, necessary to oversee monthly accounting closes, statutory financial reporting, and global payroll and commissions processing and reporting.
  • Knowledge of accounting, payroll management, and commissions systems and solutions.
  • Experience working with IT and other functions to implement new systems.
  • Track record of driving finance process improvement, efficiencies, and simplification.
  • Success in partnering with stakeholders in a complex, highly matrixed, and global environment.
  • Able to coach and develop talent across large teams to achieve outstanding performance.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Global mindset with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
