Marketing and Communications Leadership Role

Limerick City and County Council seeks a visionary leader to spearhead its Marketing and Communications Department. As the Head of Marketing and Communications, you will drive strategic initiatives, elevate the Council's public image, and foster engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

  • This role is pivotal in communicating the Council's initiatives, services, and achievements to the community, ensuring transparency and trust.
  • Effective marketing and communication strategies can significantly enhance public awareness and participation in Council programs, leading to more informed and engaged citizens.
  • You will be responsible for managing the Council's brand and reputation, ensuring Limerick is perceived positively both locally and beyond.
  • In times of crisis or change, your expertise will help mitigate misinformation and provide clear, timely updates to the public.
About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to network and develop strategic partners. They will have a high degree of resilience and personal integrity, proven skills in technology use, highly developed presentation skills, and knowledge of the current media environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans to engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the Council's brand and reputation, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Drive effective marketing campaigns to attract tourism, investment, and talent to the region.
  • Streamline internal communications, ensuring all departments are aligned and working towards common goals.

  • Proven skills in use of technology appropriate to the position.
