General Arrangement Draftsperson/BIM Technician

The role of the General Arrangement Draftsperson/BIM Technician is to create and coordinate intelligent 3D models and general arrangement (GA) drawings within a multidisciplinary design environment.

This position involves the development, coordination, and management of multi-discipline coordinated models, drawings, and schedules. The successful candidate will align design development with the project BIM execution plan and liaise between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the production of multi-discipline coordinated models, drawings, and schedules.
  • Coordinate design development with the project BIM execution plan.
  • Collaborate between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers.
  • Attend model coordination meetings and maintain model integrity.
  • Liaise with project teams to determine project needs and timelines.
  • Produce drawings with minimal supervision or direction.
  • Use initiative to support the CAD team and grow expertise in CAD software and other tools.

Technical Proficiency Requirements:

  • Revit model creation and family creation.
  • Navisworks management.
  • BIM coordination workflows and model sharing protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or strong trades background coupled with BIM qualification.
  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience within a BIM Co-ordination function.
  • Mechanical or Electrical background with a proven track record in a similar role.
