About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to fill a permanent, part-time (0.5 WTE) MSK physiotherapy position at University Hospital Galway with exposure to General University Hospitals services and Emergency Department.

The successful candidate will have a depth and breadth of experience in acute musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including leadership and supervisory skills. They will also possess advanced knowledge of relevant National Clinical Programmes informing MSK care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the delivery of high-quality physiotherapy services across two sites, including Critical Care, Surgical, Medical, Neurology, Stroke, Orthopaedics, Frailty, and Musculoskeletal services.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Deliver MSK physiotherapy services with depth and breadth of experience in acute musculoskeletal physiotherapy relevant to the role.
  • Work primarily at UHG site delivering a service in the Emergency Department (ED).
  • Provide weekend and on-call cover across acute respiratory and orthopaedics as part of the service requirements.
Key Requirements
  • Depth and breadth of experience in acute musculoskeletal physiotherapy relevant to the role.
  • Experience in leading and supervising a team of physiotherapists.
  • Demonstrate strategic awareness of national health service reform initiatives and their implications for physiotherapy service delivery.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant National Clinical Programmes informing MSK care.
