Operational Excellence Specialist

The Operational Excellence Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the Site Operational Excellence Group's efforts to boost operations and minimize waste. This specialist will work closely with the Senior Manager of Operational Excellence to drive the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques.

  • Drive the identification, prioritization, and execution of projects that align with business strategies.
  • Support the development and delivery of Lean/Six Sigma initiatives as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement process improvements.
  • Lead workshops and Kaizen events to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor Project Sponsors, Black Belts/Green Belts candidates on the effective use of tools, improvement processes, and deployment issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering subject area plus 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in Project Management.
  • Background in manufacturing, technology, and supply chain, with Drug Product manufacturing considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of at least one structured problem-solving approach (e.g., A3, DMAIC, 8D, etc.).
Desirable Skills
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including data acquisition and presentation. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerQuery, Spotfire, or developing SQL queries for data analysis.
  • Ability to thrive in a matrix or team environment with site, divisional, and corporate executive leadership.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to drive change management and influence for improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power Platform software – Power BI, Excel, PowerQuery, Project for the Web, PowerAutomate, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
