Overview of Pharmacist Role

  • Maintain awareness of patient care throughout the hospital.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with hospital values.
  • Participate in pharmaceutical services as part of a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain open communication and healthy working relationships.
  • Participate in departmental mentorship programs.
  • Review medications for accuracy and suitability.
  • Ensure safe and efficacious dispensing of prescriptions.
  • Counsel patients about medications and manage side effects.

Requirements:

  • Registered Pharmacist with Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
  • At least three years satisfactory post-registration hospital experience.
  • Possess requisite knowledge and ability for proper discharge of duties.

Health and Safety:

  • Work within hospital health and safety policies.
  • Aware of Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Attend fire lectures and drills.
