We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Support Specialist to fill this critical role.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and young adults with intellectual disabilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and developing support programmes for intervention that cater to the needs of children and young adults who have intellectual disabilities and display challenging behaviours.
A person-centred approach will be used to develop Positive Behaviour Support Plans, which includes identifying proactive strategies, adaptations, preventative strategies and ongoing monitoring using a range of tools to ensure the effectiveness of interventions and plans.
Providing training in various areas and approaches as per the individual's support plan is also a key aspect of this role. On-the-ground support will be provided for frontline managers, staff teams and families in translating training into action.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this role, enabling effective engagement with outside agencies and advocacy for the children and young people attending the service.
