Weekend Chef Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Weekend Chef to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals during weekends and relief cover.

  • Your primary responsibility will be to prepare, cook, and present meals to the required standards.
  • You will maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including equipment and storage areas.
  • Monitor stock levels, rotate stock, and assist with ordering as required.

You will collaborate with the kitchen team and cleaning staff to ensure efficient service delivery.

As a Weekend Chef, you will be responsible for running the kitchen independently when on duty, ensuring residents' nutritional needs are met.

Cover for the Head Chef or other team members when required.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Chef (ideally in a busy kitchen or catering environment).
  • Knowledge and experience of HACCP and food safety standards (HACCP certification is a must).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and provide relief cover as needed.

Possession of passion for food, creativity, and high standards of presentation.

The following skills are desirable:

  • Experience in catering for large groups.
  • Previous experience of working in a social care environment.
  • First Aid and/or Manual Handling training.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen management.
