Structural Lead

A senior structural engineer is required to lead our structures division, overseeing the technical and commercial performance. Key responsibilities include leading a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring high-quality design deliverables, and managing project budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational and commercial performance management, reporting to Director/MD level.
  • Technical guidance, mentoring, and professional development for a team of structural engineers and technicians.
  • Design deliverable oversight, maintaining ongoing high-quality standards.
  • Managing interactions between project team members, clients, stakeholders, and external sub-consultants.
  • Team resource management, delegating activities, and monitoring project budgets.
  • Interaction with Project Leads in other sectors or disciplines within the company, ensuring works are delivered as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Recruitment for a growing team.
  • Client Relationship Management.
  • Business development including tender and bid management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering (Level 8 or higher).
  • Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent.
  • At least 15 years' experience in structural engineering, with a strong technical background.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership, management, and coaching abilities.
  • Excellent professional and technical knowledge.
