General Medicine Specialist Position

We are seeking an accomplished and dedicated professional to fill a General Medicine Specialist role at our esteemed University Hospital in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality medical care in General Medicine to patients at this University Hospital.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective diagnosis, treatment, and patient management.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior doctors and medical trainees.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call duties as per the hospital's rota.
  • Contribute to teaching and training programs for medical students and postgraduate trainees.

Requirements:

  • Active full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) – Specialist Division in General (Internal) Medicine is required.
  • Substantial post-graduate experience in General Medicine is essential.
  • Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team is crucial.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary scale between €231,527- €280,581 based on the HSE 2023 Consultant contract.
  • Additional remuneration for on-call duties and overtime as applicable depending on rota.
  • A highly flexible contract that enables consultants opportunity for a variety of different work patterns.
  • Up to €12,000 CME and €8,000 research grant.
  • 30 days annual leave.
  • 10 public holidays.
  • Continuous Medical Education leave.
  • Hours: 37 hours per week, plus on-call supplements.
