Young Person Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Project Worker. As part of our Youth Housing Team, you will play a crucial role in providing a flexible supported housing service to young people in Limerick.
You will work closely with colleagues to deliver a high-quality service that meets the needs of our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement individualized care plans that prepare and support each resident for independent living.
Your duties will include:
- To work within the framework of our overall aims and objectives and utilize the model of care devised for the project.
- To collaborate with the team in delivering the service to young people.
- To create suitable care plans to prepare and support each resident for independent living.
- To provide holistic support to young people, focusing on their practical self-care needs, health, budgeting, and domestic skills.
- To promote and build the confidence and self-esteem of young people leaving care.
- To advocate on behalf of the young person for housing, social welfare, education, training, and legal rights.
- To liaise with and make referrals to relevant outside agencies.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Social Care or Equivalent Qualification at degree level.
- Experience working in a social care setting for at least 2 years.
- Experience of key-working clients or individual case-work.
- A full clean driver's license and access to your own car.
- Experience of managing challenging behavior.
- A good understanding of the issues affecting young people leaving care (desirable).
- Flexibility (desirable).
- An understanding of Child Protection (desirable).
- Experience of inter-agency working (desirable).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (desirable).
