Financial Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate monthly financial reporting, driving the continuous development of financial reporting processes and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience as a Financial Accountant and be a finalist or newly qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA/CPA. They will possess extensive knowledge of Excel and strong spreadsheet analysis skills, with keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Preparing and delivering timely and accurate monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements and liaising with external auditors.
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insightful analysis to aid decision-making.
  • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining financial models and spreadsheets, ensuring high standards of accuracy and detail.
  • Monitoring and improving financial controls and processes to support robust financial governance.
  • Working on ad-hoc projects as required, including process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
  • Collaborating with other departments to provide financial insights and support business objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Assisting with cash flow management and reporting.

The successful candidate will have excellent project management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines. They will also have strong organizational, analytical, and time-management abilities, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
