Job Description

Mechanical and Electrical Foremen are required to manage and co-ordinate teams of Mechanical and Electrical trades on site.


  • Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager, this role involves attending onsite progress meetings, generating weekly reports, adhering to the construction programme and onsite deliverables.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the organisation and co-ordination of site-based activities, leading and co-ordinating teams of Mechanical and Electrical engineering trades on site, tracking and recording of site daily activities and construction progress.
  • Key responsibilities include managing labour and specialist sub-contractors, ensuring proactive management of client relationships, liaising with clients, staff, senior management, suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
  • Additional duties include conducting system walkdowns, ensuring mechanical/electrical systems are safely inspected, tested and commissioned correctly, as per the project requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A minimum of two years' experience post Mechanical/Electrical Trades qualification is required, along with a Mechanical or Electrical Trades exam completed. A general knowledge of mechanical or electrical, HVAC, building services, utilities and piping systems is also essential.


  • Key qualifications include ability to interpret schematics and mechanical/electrical drawings, work on their own initiative, have excellent attention to detail and good computer/PC skills.
  • Desirable qualifications include good knowledge of AutoCAD/Navisworks, previous M&E co-ordination experience and knowledge of Irish Building Regulations.

Benefits

This is a full-time position based on site, with remuneration dependent on experience. The working time is 45 hours per week, with some overtime required to meet schedule/programme deliverables.
