Material Handling Specialist Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine materials or carts to be moved or staged based on work orders and pick sheets.
  • Inspect packing contents for conformity to specifications by counting, weighing, measuring, or examining items.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets manually.
  • Perform physical tasks requiring constant lifting, standing for extended periods, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
  • Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and communicate with stakeholders to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Load materials onto carts and secure them using strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage during transit.
  • Operate stand-up side loaders to move materials between storage or work sites and designated areas.
  • Perform general inventory work as required.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
      • Good understanding of BPCS & ADC systems, computer skills, ability to recognize similarities and differences between profiles, and perform basic math operations.
      • Forklift and material handling experience, good communication and organizational skills, vigilance about safety, and quality consciousness oriented towards excellence.
