This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading engineering consultancy and become part of a dynamic team that delivers innovative solutions for civil and structural engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Civil Technician, you will develop your technical skills, management abilities, and commercial acumen, working on a variety of projects across the country.
  • You will be responsible for preparing high-quality civil infrastructure drawings and details for site development, roads, transportation, public health infrastructure, and other related projects.
  • Deliver project drawings to the required technical standards in a timely manner, reporting to the project manager and ensuring seamless collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Oversee and check standards on project drawings by junior technicians, providing guidance and support to help them grow professionally.
  • Produce 2D drawings in AutoCAD and 3D model designs in Autodesk Civil 3D, utilizing your expertise to drive project success.
  • Carry out site inspections and attend Design Team meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Work in accordance with our company's ISO procedures, maintaining a high level of quality and adhering to industry standards.
  • Prepare risk assessments, health & safety plans, and other essential documents, demonstrating your ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, team members, contractors, and clients, building strong relationships and delivering results-oriented solutions.
  • Work efficiently within budget constraints, tracking extra services and ensuring transparency in financial planning and management.
  • Develop the skills of staff that report to you through mentoring, delegation, and training, fostering a culture of growth and development within the organization.
  • Maintain a high quality of output, exceeding expectations and driving excellence in all aspects of your work.

Requirements:

  • A Higher Certificate (NFQ Level 6) in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience of AutoCAD 2D & AutoDesk Civil 3D are essential for this role.
  • Leadership skills to plan, manage, and direct resources required to solve complex problems in multidisciplinary teams.
  • A high level of commercial understanding and application, with a proven track record of managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Strong communication skills both orally and in writing, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
  • An appreciation of the full Project Delivery Process, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and exceeding client expectations.
  • A positive, proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios and priorities.
  • A commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
