Job Title: Garage Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
  • Oversee and direct the day-to-day operations of the in-house garage, ensuring timely and efficient servicing, repair, and maintenance of fleet vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
  • Develop and implement a structured preventative maintenance system to minimize downtime and optimize fleet performance, consistently adhering to RSA and CVRT regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and inspection records within robust compliance systems, guaranteeing seamless audits and inspections.
  • Analyze workshop performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.
  • Lead the team of mechanics and fitters with clear direction and vision, fostering a high-performance culture through regular training, mentoring, and constructive feedback sessions.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Proven experience as a Garage Manager or Workshop Supervisor within a commercial vehicle or logistics environment, showcasing expertise in managing systems and leading teams.
  • In-depth understanding of HGVs, trailers, and associated mechanical/electrical systems, with a strong technical knowledge base.
  • Expertise in implementing effective compliance systems, adhering to RSA regulations and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling seamless collaboration across departments, with drivers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
