Transport Operations Manager Role

This is a key leadership position that plays a crucial role in supporting and managing transport operations across multiple brands.

The successful candidate will engage with transport colleagues to implement efficient use of systems, challenge requirements, and explore opportunities for replacement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day management of the transport function, overseeing branch networks and implementing procedures as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring first-time delivery every time and promoting our brand positively.
  • Identify and eliminate operational inefficiencies, streamline processes, and implement best practices for branch transport operations.
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation and drive the implementation of future legislative changes.
  • Develop and manage strategic fleet programmes, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as H&S.
  • Audit systems and processes regularly to ensure adherence to procedures.
  • Control costs and provide high-level sign-off for relevant fleet activities.
  • Produce monthly reports for line management.

  • Prioritise workload effectively, demonstrating self-organisation and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to operational detail, commercial awareness, and numeracy skills.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills, display negotiation skills, and be flexible and willing to learn.
  • Target-driven with the ability to think strategically, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Be IT literate and able to handle analytical data, interface with multiple departments and brands, and work individually and as part of a team.
