Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and managing the implementation of exterior systems for a variety of projects, from commercial buildings to complex infrastructure developments. This role requires close collaboration with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to ensure that exterior solutions meet technical and aesthetic standards while also ensuring energy efficiency and sustainability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop exterior systems in collaboration with the wider project team.
  • Provide technical input to ensure compliance with safety standards, building regulations, and client requirements.
  • Perform structural analysis of exterior components and materials.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and manufacturers to source and implement exterior solutions.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure the quality of exterior installations.
  • Manage exterior design documentation and specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Ensure exterior systems contribute to energy efficiency and sustainability targets.
  • Collaborate with architects and other stakeholders to ensure exterior designs meet aesthetic expectations.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field, as well as a minimum of 3 years' experience in exterior design or engineering.

Strong understanding of materials science, building physics, and structural engineering principles as they apply to exterior systems is essential. Proficiency in engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools is also required.

Familiarity with building regulations and standards, particularly in relation to exterior systems, is necessary. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team are also essential.

Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering on time and within budget are crucial.
