Pharmaceutical Process Engineer

Located on the picturesque west coast of Ireland, our state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility is looking for a skilled Pharmaceutical Process Engineer to join their team. This role involves supporting engineering in pharma operations in line with all safety, regulatory and organisational requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and modifying procedures as needed to support the manufacturing operation.
  • Participating in process, equipment, and facilities validations efforts and projects implementations.
  • Providing expert input on process and equipment engineering from design phase to equipment handover.
  • Reviewing and approving process flow diagrams (PFDs), specifications, layouts and P&ID's.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant third level qualification in an engineering, science or technical discipline and extensive experience in Process / Equipment or Manufacturing Engineering of a Pharmaceutical and Health Care Organisation.

Responsibilities also include reviewing vendor design documentation to ensure compliance with process and technical specifications, leading FAT and SAT activities ensuring the equipment meets technical requirements, and supporting equipment installation integration and co-ordinating vendor supervision as required.

A strong understanding of manufacturing processes of biotechnological drugs, parental drugs, solutions preparation, and sterilisation operations is desirable. Previous experience in new product introductions (drug product) to pharmaceutical facilities is also beneficial.
