Nurse Manager

This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring our hospital's preparedness and effective response to major incidents, mass casualty events, and internal incidents.
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 will coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of emergency plans, aligned with national guidelines, policies, and statutory requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, emergency services, and external agencies to ensure seamless integration of clinical operational and logistical responses during emergency situations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership and Communication:
- Demonstrate strong clinical leadership to all staff involved in an emergency situation.
- Establish effective working relationships with all departments and staff.
- Work with senior managers to prioritize initiatives.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and evaluate actions for continuous improvement.
- Professional Development:
- Assess and identify training needs for all staff.
- Develop and participate in in-service education.
- Apply research findings to support improvements within the service.
- Standards and Quality:
- Safeguard the welfare and safety of patients and staff by establishing management and clinical standards.
- Evaluate outcomes post-emergency events and maintain records of audits and improvement plans.
- Resource Management:
- Participate in budget planning and management of resources.
- Pursue resource efficiency measures and value-for-money initiatives.
Requirements:
- A registered nurse with a minimum of 5 years' experience, including 2 years in the specialty or related area.
- Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
- Desirable: Recognized management qualification or willingness to undertake further study.
