Product Quality Specialist

We are seeking a Product Quality Specialist to oversee the implementation of our quality management system and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to food safety standards (e.g., BRCGS, ISO) by maintaining robust systems and processes.
  • Coordination and Communication: Liaise with regulatory authorities (BRC, FSAI, DAFM) for legal compliance and collaborate with internal teams.
  • Audit and Inspection Preparation: Oversee internal and external audits to guarantee readiness for inspections.
  • HACCP Plan Development and Review: Lead the development, implementation, and review of the site's HACCP plan.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Preventive Measures: Manage non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Quality Management System and Documentation: Maintain the Quality Management System and associated documentation.
  • Equipment Calibration and Maintenance: Oversee calibration, testing, and maintenance of equipment critical to quality control.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Manage data collection, analysis, and reporting for validations and performance indicators.
  • Product Complaints and Recalls: Investigate and resolve product complaints, recalls, or quality incidents.
  • Traceability Systems: Ensure robust traceability systems are in place for effective incident management.
  • Collaboration with Production, R&D, and Supply Chain Teams: Partner with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to maintain product quality and process efficiency.
  • New Product Development: Contribute to NPD by providing technical expertise and ensuring compliance.
  • QA Team Leadership and Support: Lead and support the QA team, providing training, guidance, and performance management.
  • Culture of Continuous Improvement and Food Safety Awareness: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and food safety awareness across the organization.

About This Role

  • Ensure Quality and Regulatory Compliance: The Product Quality Specialist will be responsible for ensuring quality and regulatory compliance throughout the production process.
  • Lead Quality Improvement Initiatives: The incumbent will lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of products and services.
  • Develop and Implement Quality Management Systems: Develop and implement quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., food science, quality assurance).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance or a related field.
  • Proven track record of ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
