Job Role: Health Care Assistant - Support Worker

About the Job: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our team in providing specialist care services. As a Health Care Assistant, you will engage in daily activities and routines of the service, inclusive of direct support to individuals, administration work, and household tasks.

The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a dedicated and innovative team within a Residential Services setting, providing care and support to individuals in line with HIQA regulations & standards.

As we provide 24-hour care, 7 days a week, working hours may include shift work, including sleep ins and waking night duties as required. Some flexibility may be necessary from time to time in relation to working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily activities and care for individuals as assigned by the Manager and as indicated in their Integrated Care Plan.
  • Encourage recognition of each individual as an unique person, ensuring their needs and comforts are prioritized.
  • Act as an advocate for individuals and their families, providing appropriate information and support.
  • Develop social interaction for individuals individually and in group settings.
  • Be aware of equipment uses, safety precautions, and handling.
  • Participate in all communication processes, including team meetings, staff forums, and emails.
  • Ensure personal care is provided to individuals when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Be flexible and willing to work shifts to meet the needs of the service.
