The Role: Automation and Controls Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Automation and Controls Engineer to join our team. This role will involve providing technical support for the site in the field of automation.

You will be responsible for proactively resolving technical issues, collaborating with the wider engineering team, and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.

A broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization is essential for this role.

You will possess complex problem-solving skills and be able to provide technical solutions through automation systems knowledge.

A strong technical background in PLC, HMI, Robotics, GAMP, and GMP is required.

Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens controls systems would be advantageous.

Additionally, you should have some experience of scripting programming languages, Object Oriented Programming, and SQL Server DB design.

A working knowledge of Ignition SCADA platform and Cognex vision systems is beneficial.

Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external stakeholders are crucial for success in this role.

You will be capable of providing technical leadership, influencing, and providing technical direction to Engineers, Technicians, and team members as required.

A team player, with a flexible approach, is necessary for this position.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Level 8 Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineer, Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of 4-6 years software and controls experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical solutions for complex problems through automation systems knowledge
  • Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of Automation and or Digitalisation projects

Nice to Have Requirements:

  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens controls systems
