Job Description

The role of the Behavioural Specialist is to undertake Functional Assessments and develop Multi-Element Behaviour Support Plans (MEBSP) to support individuals with their behaviour, teach new skills and improve overall quality of life.

This position requires a Behaviour Specialist to work with adults in a well-established Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit based in North Cork, working alongside a diverse multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include undertaking Functional Assessments, developing MEBSPs in collaboration with relevant others, overseeing implementation and monitoring, assisting in integrating recommendations into individual Personal Plans, providing training to front-line staff, ensuring high-quality MEBSPs compliant with all regulatory standards, quality-checking Personal Plans for each individual, and engaging in ongoing education and professional development.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Psychology Degree or equivalent: A recognised qualification in Psychology or a related field is essential for this role.
  • MSc ABA or equivalent: A Master's degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) or an equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
  • BCBA preferred but not essential: While a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) certification is preferred, it is not essential for this role.
