We are seeking an ambitious professional to join our team as a Hydrologist/Water Resources Manager.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for hydrological analysis, encompassing flow estimation through statistical techniques, regionalised methods and rainfall-runoff modelling, as well as low flow analysis. They will interpret hydrological data and water resources information, conducting hydrometric fieldwork, catchment walkovers and reviewing third-party data.

Responsibilities
  • Perform hydrological analysis using statistical models and water resource packages such as Pywr or Aquator.
  • Interpret data from various sources including hydrometric measurements and remote sensing technology.
  • Develop and maintain tools and methods to automate and standardize hydrological analysis processes.
  • Conduct water resource modelling to estimate yield and deployable output, and to support wider environmental assessment.
  • Analyse hydrological data and hydro ecological literature/guidance to assess the environmental and ecological effects of water resource pressures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to contribute to water resources planning processes.
  • Evaluate the impacts of climate change on water resource availability.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in a private sector consultancy is required, as is experience of undertaking business development, client engagement, proposal and tender writing and winning and delivering won work.
  • The ideal candidate will hold a qualification in hydrology or a related field at FETAC Level 7 or higher, and have relevant work experience and likely to be chartered or have achieved Fellow status through CIWEM or another relevant professional body.
  • Familiarity with working with and in Irish catchments and hydrology is highly desirable.
