About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic and Transportation Professional to join our team.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in transport planning, including the development of Transport Strategies/LTPs for large towns and Local Areas.
  • They will also have expertise in leading multidisciplinary design teams and partners in developing transport networks for new towns, residential & commercial developments in accordance with DMURS.
  • An added advantage is the ability to design & appraise Active Travel schemes (walking & cycling) in urban and rural environments including greenways (preliminary and detailed).
  • Additionally, the successful candidate should have experience in designing bus priority schemes and traffic management schemes (including environmental improvement and traffic calming schemes of towns and villages).

The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong numerical skills and problem-solving abilities, and at least 3 years transport modelling experience.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • A relevant engineering/planning degree and either hold or are working towards Chartered status.
  • Experience with transport modelling software such as Cube, SATURN, Aimsun, Paramics, Vissum, Vissim, EMME.
  • Excellent analytical skills to inform decision making, including spreadsheet, data analysis.
  • Use and application of GIS Techniques to transport modelling outputs and analysis.
  • Qualitative & quantitative research skills.

Desirable qualifications and requirements include a good understanding of design principles, national / local authority standards, technical guidance documents, and ability to mentor junior staff in developing their own technical expertise.
