Chef Position

We are seeking a skilled Chef to work with a Healthcare client in the city of Wexford on a temporary relief basis.

This role offers flexibility, whether you want to work 1-2 days or 5-7 days per week, and various shifts that suit your family, study, or work commitments. It is ideal for those between jobs, working part-time, or looking for extra hours to earn a great hourly rate.

As a Relief Chef, you will benefit from excellent pay rates and be paid weekly. You will also have the opportunity to choose your desired days and shifts. Additionally, this role may lead to a permanent full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all food items to order within specified time limits.
  • Prepare portions of meat, fish, and poultry.
  • Prepare desserts and cakes when required.
  • Minimise waste.
  • Label all food items for food safety and shelf-life standards and follow HACCP procedures.
  • Comply with food safety and temperature standards.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen area.
  • Control stock levels of food items according to specifications.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Prior experience in a full-service restaurant kitchen is desirable.
  • Healthcare chef experience is preferred.
  • The ability to adapt to high-pressure situations in a busy kitchen.
  • A professional demeanor at all times, setting a standard for team members.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A reliable means of transportation due to some locations being inaccessible by public transport.
