Overview: The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) seeks a skilled and dedicated professional to join its team as a Clinical Tutor/Lecturer. Key Responsibilities: As a Clinical Tutor/Lecturer, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and delivery of the undergraduate teaching programme in cardiology. This will include participating in clinical courses, such as ACLS, IBU, and PALS, and being refunded up to €450 on successful completion. You will also have opportunities to participate in educational leave, benefit from the RCSI Staff Development Programme, and contribute to the assessment of students in the junior, intermediate, and senior cycles of the four and five-year programmes. Furthermore, you will participate in weekly cardiology teaching sessions, provide resources and communication with student groups via the RCSI virtual learning environment, and deliver the curriculum at various sites. Additionally, you will conduct research, perform clinical work on-site in RCSI teaching hospitals, and ensure adherence to Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland policies and procedures.

Requirements: To be considered for this role, applicants must possess an in-depth understanding of the cardiology ethos, evidence of registration with the Irish Medical Council, and a keen interest in lecturing and interacting with undergraduate students. Previous experience in cardiology, using E-learning/VLE systems, teaching and assessing students in an academic environment, and research would be advantageous. A minimum of 4 years of clinical experience post-internship and MRCPI/MRCSI or equivalent qualifications are required.
