Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Ecologist to play a pivotal role in coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and statutory consent applications for major infrastructure projects.

Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, making you an invaluable asset to our organization.

  • Lead and coordinate EIA projects across all stages, incorporating feedback from key stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Conduct ecological surveys, habitat assessments, and species-specific surveys to gather essential data for reports, providing actionable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate environmental impacts, working closely with project teams to drive successful outcomes.
Key Requirements
  • A relevant third-level degree (Level 8 or higher) in a field related to ecology or environmental science.
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience, primarily in an ecology role within planning or environmental consultancy, demonstrating a track record of success.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), showcasing your commitment to professional development.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering EIAR, NIS, EcIA, and AA, highlighting your technical expertise.
  • Experience in one or more technical areas relevant to marine EIA, such as aquatic ecology, marine ecology, ornithology, or commercial fisheries.
