At Astatine, we are driven by a passion to accelerate the transition towards a zero-carbon future. Our team is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with expertise in Civil and Structural Engineering to lead our design and delivery of complex high-temperature heat pump systems and solar farms.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication abilities. They will be responsible for designing structural support and foundations, overseeing trenching and ducting detailed designs, and managing civil contractors on-site. This role requires a highly motivated individual who can effectively manage workload and prioritize tasks while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design foundation layouts for modular structures
  • Conduct geotechnical evaluations of sites and ground conditions
  • Develop detailed designs for trenching and ducting
  • Oversee structural support and foundation designs
  • Lead light road and access track designs
  • Supervise site set-outs for solar farms and other structures
  • Manage civil contractors and conduct site inspections
  • Evaluate existing buildings for capacity upgrades
  • Identify opportunities for added value through innovative system design
  • Attend customer meetings and project construction/design meetings
  • Review and approve civil and structural designs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status desirable but not mandatory
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and AutoCAD/BIM
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid full driving license preferred
  • A keen desire to contribute to the renewable energy transition
