Job Title: Manufacturing Operations Manager

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced manufacturing operations manager to oversee a team of skilled professionals in the manufacture, repair, and maintenance of complex tools and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily manufacturing activities, including preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and new project implementation.
  • Operate and supervise work using CNC machines (EDM, Wire Eroder, CNC mill/lathe) and manual machinery (grinders, lathes, drills, welders).
  • Ensure high-quality production-ready tools and components.
  • Provide technical support to production and engineering teams.
  • Mentor junior team members, promoting skills development.
  • Record tooling maintenance and participate in project launches and trials.
  • Implement and maintain safety standards and 5 S practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in manufacturing or toolmaking, preferably in an injection moulding environment.
  • Strong CNC machining skills and experience with hot and cold runner systems.
  • Proficiency in precision assemblies and heat treatment processes.
  • Leadership experience or ability to step up in a senior manufacturing role.
  • Decision-making skills with ability to work under pressure.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality results and continuous improvement.
  • Positive attitude with strong time management skills.
  • Toolmaking or Engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent) completed.
  • FLT license or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or 5 S environments.
