Job Role: Toolroom Supervisor

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to fill the role of Toolroom Supervisor.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the efficiency of our operations, ensuring that all tooling is production-ready and meets required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day toolroom activities, including preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs, and new tooling projects.
  • Operate and supervise work using CNC machines (EDM, Wire Eroder, CNC mill/lathe) and manual machinery (grinders, lathes, drills, welders).
  • Provide strong technical support to production and engineering departments.
  • Mentor apprentices and junior team members, promoting skills development.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and 5 S practices to maintain a clean, efficient work environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians, providing guidance and support as needed. You will also be expected to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, making recommendations for process improvements where necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven background in toolmaking, preferably within an injection moulding environment.
  • Strong CNC and manual machining skills.
  • Experience with hot and cold runner systems and precision assemblies.
  • Familiarity with heat treatment and tooling finishing processes.
  • Leadership experience, preferably in a team leadership or management capacity.
