Application Operations Specialist

The role of a System Operations Specialist is to ensure the smooth functioning and scalability of our technical environment. As a key member of the infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing server hosts in multiple colocations across Europe, maintaining batch scheduling environments, and monitoring systems.
Responsibilities- Manage and monitor server hosts in multiple colocations across Europe.
- Maintain and manage batch scheduling environments and monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure scalability, runtime environment, and stability.
- Diagnose issues and troubleshoot existing application configurations.
- Set up and maintain tools that monitor for alerts and test new system changes.
- Continuously evaluate, improve, and deploy new application versions.
- Manage project work including hardware refreshes, environment optimisation, software configurations, change management, and release management.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Excellent IT analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Extensive experience tracing problems through log file analysis and understanding application/systems logic.
- Experience with or supporting batch scheduling systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of application monitoring and analytical tools such as Splunk and Check_mk.
- A degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of networked application systems including database environments and Windows operating systems.
