Strategic Procurement Lead
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Procurement Lead to drive our purchasing function forward. In this key role, you will be responsible for leading a team of procurement specialists and developing strategies to improve supplier performance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
About the Role
- Lead and manage a team of procurement specialists to achieve strategic objectives;
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize supply chain performance;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to drive improved quality, cost reductions, and supply consistency;
- Monitor and deliver departmental KPIs on on-time delivery, supplier performance, stock levels, and cost savings;
- Identify and deliver freight cost savings and stock reduction initiatives;
- Oversee purchase order creation, approvals, and compliance with company policy;
- Maintain and evolve procurement processes in line with ISO and QMS standards;
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and warehousing to ensure inventory accuracy and material availability;
- Support accurate forecasting and long-term supplier planning;
- Mentor and develop procurement team members to build a high-performing function.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field;
- Minimum 5 years' procurement leadership experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment;
- Proven track record in supplier management, cost reduction, and achieving performance targets;
- Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with experience negotiating international supplier agreements and logistics contracts;
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel;
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
