At our esteemed establishment, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Deli Assistant to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our deli.

  • To serve customers with a smile, efficiently and effectively, thereby delivering an outstanding standard of customer care.
  • To communicate with customers in a manner that is both effective and welcoming, fostering strong relationships and building trust.
  • To ensure that products are served to customers in accordance with rigorous food hygiene requirements, guaranteeing their safety and satisfaction.
  • To maintain an in-depth knowledge of current deli products and promotions, enabling informed recommendations and expert advice.
  • To assist customers with any queries they may have regarding deli products, demonstrating a genuine commitment to their needs.
Operational Excellence
  • To stay abreast of current in-store sales and promotions, making informed decisions to drive business growth.
  • To answer customer inquiries regarding the store and its merchandise, showcasing a deep understanding of our products and services.
  • To address customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner, referring complex issues to management where necessary.
  • To maintain a spotless environment, including shelves, counters, and floors, both internally and externally, upholding high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • To clean all areas of the store, including staff facilities, as directed by management, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
  • To ensure the back-store area remains well-organized and clutter-free, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
  • To receive and inspect stock according to company guidelines, verifying its quality and accuracy.
  • To pack stock in accordance with merchandising guidelines, presenting products in an attractive and appealing manner.
  • To update shelf-edged labels as instructed by management, maintaining accurate product information and promoting easy navigation.
  • To rotate stock strategically, minimizing waste and maximizing inventory turnover.
  • To remain vigilant at all times, preventing stock loss and waste through proactive measures.
  • To conduct stock takes as directed by management, accurately recording inventory levels and identifying areas for improvement.
  • To prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of colleagues, customers, and self, taking proactive steps to reduce risks and hazards.
Critical Control Points
  • To monitor temperatures in the deli area, ensuring compliance with HACCP regulations and safeguarding food quality.
  • To maintain accurate HACCP records, documenting critical control points and monitoring procedures.
  • To prevent contamination by closely monitoring critical control points and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • To adhere to relevant controls around all foods, including fresh and red meats, upholding the highest standards of food safety.
