Family Preservation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Preservation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide experienced, short-term, intense child welfare casework services to families in high-risk categories.

Job Description:

Familial Support Services: Under general supervision, the specialist provides intensive support to families, ensuring children remain safely at home. This includes evaluating safety and risk factors, developing service plans, and facilitating collaboration with service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct in-person assessments with families, biological parents, and foster/relative care providers as required by DCFS;
  2. Schedule and facilitate Child and Family Team meetings, engaging children and families in the process;
  3. Monitor parent-child interactions, as needed;
  4. Transport clients as necessary;
  5. Obtain consents from families and service providers;
  6. Connect families with community resources;
  7. Ongoing training on DCFS requirements;
  8. Counseling and support services for families;
  9. Referrals to other services as necessary;
