Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Project Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery of design deliverables within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with clients to ensure delivery of reports, designs, and associated outputs.
  • Review documents and designs prepared by Graduate, Design, and other Project Engineers.
  • Prepare and review preliminary designs and reports using various computer packages, and prepare detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Complete designs and drawings for site development work.
  • Determine greenfield runoff rates and size soakaways and attenuation tanks for surface water drainage designs in accordance with SuDS.
  • Design foul sewer and watermain networks for developments in accordance with Irish Water Codes of Practice.
  • Liaise with Irish Water through pre-connection enquiries, connection applications, and diversion processes.
  • Coordinate technical project delivery, liaising with relevant project staff to ensure timely delivery of design deliverables.
  • Conduct property inspections and prepare detailed engineering reports.
  • Assess risk for all designs, preparing designers' assessments.
  • Preliminary inspection plans and undertaking BCAR inspections.
  • Procure Site Investigation and Building and Civil Engineering Contracts, and prepare pricing schedules and Bills of Quantities as necessary.
  • Support Project Managers in preparing tender documents and assessing tenders.
  • Administer construction contracts to ensure achievement of design requirements, project schedules, and budgets.
  • Liaise with local authorities to scope feasibility of new projects regarding drainage, traffic, and flooding.
Requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in procedures associated with statutory applications such as planning permission, fire safety certificates, disability access certificates, commencement notices etc.
  • Experience in conducting condition surveys and building regulations compliance surveys of properties.
  • Proficiency in working on commercial and residential developments from inception to handover.
  • Knowledge of the Building Regulations, including Technical Guidance Documents AM.
  • Understanding of drainage design principles, including implementation of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems and Irish Water Codes of Practice for Water and Wastewater Infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of public procurement procedures and thresholds.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, including PWMF Forms of Contract and RIAI Forms of Contract.
