Job Title: Child Development Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Child Development Specialist to join our therapy service for children with developmental needs. This role is based in Claremorris, Co. Mayo.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychological assessments, interventions, and therapeutic support to children and adolescents with a range of developmental, emotional, and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough psychological assessments to identify children's strengths and areas for development.
  2. Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans to address identified needs.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide seamless care and support to children and families.
  4. Maintain accurate records of assessment results, intervention plans, and progress monitoring data.
Requirements
  1. Doctorate in educational psychology or a doctorate in clinical psychology or a doctorate in counselling psychology.
  2. ADOS training and experience of providing autism diagnostic assessments desirable.
  3. Registration as a Chartered Clinical / Educational Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
  4. Qualifications validated by the Department of Health if qualified outside of Ireland.
  5. 2 years of post-qualification experience in clinical practice, preferably working with children and adolescents.
  6. Demonstrated expertise in conducting psychological assessments and providing evidence-based recommendations for a range of developmental, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  7. Full license and car.
