About the Role:
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) introduced in 2018 standardises and strengthens the right of European citizens to data privacy by emphasising transparency, security, and accountability by Data Controllers.
We collect and process large volumes of data about our customers, employees, and business partners. This role aligns with our strategic objective of empowering customers through growing customer trust, a core value.
We appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO) in line with obligations. We are now looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Data Protection Specialist to work within the Data Protection Office to ensure ongoing compliance with Data Protection Laws.
Responsibilities include supporting the DPO and Data Protection Governance Manager in maintaining Data Protection compliance with the GDPR, through specialist knowledge and management capabilities.
You will work closely with staff throughout the organisation to ensure a "Privacy by Design" approach is taken in designing and executing processes involving personal data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the Data Protection Office in SARs and breaches responsibilities
- Stakeholder engagement by supporting the DPO in interactions with regulators, Business Unit Data Owners, and internal projects
- Collaborating with data protection teams and colleagues in key functions
- Implementing the assurance framework and reviewing first-line processes
- Supporting the DPO in preparing assurance reports and monitoring external developments relating to data privacy laws
About You:
We are seeking an individual with at least 5+ years' experience, ideally 2-3 years' of specialist Data Protection or related experience.
Aptitude towards IT and business process design is essential.
Execution of compliance or regulatory projects is required.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills are necessary.
