Electrical Design Expert Wanted

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems, including high-voltage substations and control/protection systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, managing and delivering works in a safe, controlled and environmentally sustainable manner.
  • Ensuring a strong culture for safety is present on the project; actively promoting engagement with our CPD programme.
  • Creating, maintaining and reviewing risk assessments.
  • Carrying out all work in accordance with health and safety and any other legal requirements.
  • Designing HV/MV substations and control/protection systems.
  • Producing drawings: SLDs, layouts, schematics.
  • Detailed design covering all aspects of High & Low voltage equipment and control and protection systems.
  • Preparing and interpreting technical specifications and enquiry documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with design standards and client requirements.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Complying with specific project safety requirements.
  • Assisting with the preparation of technical and contract documentation for issues.
  • Monitoring progress against the program and issuing progress reports.
  • Preparing method statements and risk assessments.
  • Accurately setting out the works and dimensional control.
  • Resolving technical problems at all levels.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1+ years' experience working as an Electrical Engineer (desirable)
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCAD
  • Good technical capabilities, teamwork abilities and initiative
  • Strong written, oral and numeracy skills
