Job Role

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Estimation and Cost Control: Assist in accurate estimation and cost control of construction projects to ensure completion within budget, delivering value for money while maintaining quality and adhering to contract terms.
  • Commercial Awareness: Understand commercial terms and conditions from the sales team/contract and create commercial awareness among project teams.
  • Risk Management: Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks from clients and subcontractors.
  • Performance Monitoring: Support setting up and uploading commercial performance targets in the company system; monitor actuals vs budgets with project teams to meet targets.
  • Financial Transactions: Prepare sales invoices to clients on time with accounts receivable aligned to T&C.
  • Procurement and Supply Chain: Support procurement/supply chain approach and strategic partnerships; assist in sourcing cost-effective resources (materials, equipment, contractors).
  • Pre-Construction Activities: Assist with pre-construction activities by providing latest technologies, costs, and lead times.
  • Variations and Claims: Review subcontractor claims and project variations; analyse outcomes and prepare progress reports.
  • Feedback and Lessons Learned: Provide feedback to project teams on commercial aspects related to invoices and costs; share lessons learned for future pricing.
  • Client Relationships: Attend client meetings, site walkdowns, or work inspections as required and manage client relationships.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Third level degree or equivalent in education and experience; minimum 2 years' experience.
  • Project Management: Experience working with multiple projects/sites.
  • Contracting Service: Contracting service experience; ME contractor experience would be an advantage.
  • Negotiation and Contracts: Understanding of NEC contracts would be an advantage.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the renewable energy sector would be an advantage.
