Manufacturing Operations Director

Job Description:
\The Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor role is responsible for directing and coordinating all technical and maintenance activities in support of production. This involves ensuring a safe, cost-effective and environmentally friendly work environment, while also achieving plant performance metrics.
\Duties Include:
\- Lead Technical Team with a focus on timely completion of Preventive Maintenance (PMs), Calibrations, and Equipment Downtime Resolution.
- Responsible for developing and tracking departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure equipment and maintenance performance.
- Ensure that all maintenance information, including specifications, drawings, manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), are up-to-date and accessible to colleagues.
- Follow SAP Next procedures as applicable.
- Use defined maintenance data to justify capital expenditure and drive business decisions.
- Plan, organize, direct, and control maintenance project activities to meet site objectives and provide technical support to the maintenance group.
- Develop a risk-based approach to identifying critical spares and ensure they are readily available.
- Place Purchase Orders for equipment and spares within job responsibilities and other administrative tasks.
- Setup Service Level Agreements (SLAs) as necessary.
- Resolve Unplanned Works promptly and record resolution, resource hours, and costs via SAP Work Order.
- Work with the Planner to optimize PM and Calibration Frequencies.
- Present technical data and lead tours during internal and external audit groups, customer visits, and other events.
- Manage on-site contractors under area of responsibility, preparing work permits and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
- Ensure comprehensive maintenance documentation exists for each equipment item and is filed in shared folders.
- Comply strictly with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and SOP procedures during diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and electronic systems.
- Lead shutdown activities, planning, execution, and lessons learned.
- Travel as needed to support project Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), development work, or training.
- Report equipment and process performance using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) tools to identify losses and address them efficiently.
- Set up equipment-associated spares, PMs, and calibrations in SAP.
- Manage discretionary spend and capital budgets on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through assessment of equipment issues and reliability based on gathered data and statistical analysis.
Requirements:
\This role requires a minimum 8+ years' experience in an Engineering/Maintenance Leadership position, preferably in the Life Science, Medical Device, and/or Pharmaceutical Industry.
\A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a recognized equivalent is required. Experience or qualifications in Reliability Engineering are advantageous.
\Trades-qualified candidates have an added advantage.

\- Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality and Environmental Health and Safety.
Personal Qualities
