Job Title: Senior Legal Specialist

About the Role

The role involves managing high-value High Court claims across Casualty and Property, Risks & Coverage (PRC) areas within a leading insurance sector firm. The successful candidate will handle a diverse caseload of complex High Court cases, including subrogated recoveries and a wide range of PRC claims such as property damage, recoveries, policy advice, indemnity disputes, fraud, subsidence, construction, agriculture, product liability, and both household and commercial matters.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage your own caseload of high-value High Court claims.
  • Communicate effectively with insurer clients, loss adjusters, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of complex quantum and liability issues, including medical records and expert instructions.
  • Draft legal advice, pleadings, statements, and court applications.
  • Instruct counsel and attend mediations, conferences, trials, and settlement discussions.
  • Supervise and develop junior team members, including Legal Assistants and Paralegals.
  • Maintain accurate case management systems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in business development and team initiatives.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor, ideally operating at Associate level or above, with relevant legal experience. They should have strong expertise in indemnity, liability, and quantum matters, as well as excellent analytical, communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
