This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.

We are seeking a highly skilled individual with experience in project planning, scheduling, cost estimation, and risk management to oversee the planning, scheduling, cost estimation, and risk management for major infrastructure programs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, cost control systems, and risk management plans. They will also be managing design changes and coordinating with design teams to implement change control and maintain an issues log.

Closely collaborating with project managers, engineers, and suppliers will be essential to monitor and report on project performance, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory frameworks.

This role provides a unique chance to make a significant impact on the success of our projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or a related field and at least 10 years of proven experience in project controls, planning, or scheduling within the railway sector.

Key skills and qualifications include proficiency in project controls software, excellent analytical skills, and experience in earned value management (EVM) and risk analysis. Additionally, familiarity with railway infrastructure standards and local compliance requirements is essential.

Fully understanding project control activities comply with railway standards and local regulations, maintaining high levels of accuracy and transparency, is vital for this role.

An additional responsibility for this role includes carrying out quality and safety audits on the project team and developing and implementing document review/approval procedures at project inception.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, ensuring alignment with the project's overall milestones and deliverables.
  • Cost Management: Implement cost management systems to track budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, ensuring cost control processes are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management: Establish and manage earned value management (EVM) processes to monitor and report project performance, including schedule and cost variances.
  • Collaboration: Closely collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and finance staff, to ensure project controls are effectively integrated into project delivery processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Experience: At least 10 years of proven experience in project controls, planning, or scheduling within the railway sector.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in project controls software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills, with experience in earned value management (EVM) and risk analysis.
  • Railway Standards: Familiarity with railway infrastructure standards and local compliance requirements.
